Before I ever knew who Stevie Ray Vaughn was, for me Johnny Winter was the name I immediately associated with Texas rock and blues. Johnny has released countless records and it’s a goal of mine to have every single one of them in my collection. The raw energy of his guitar playing and his love of rock and blues just pours out of these records. If you’re not a fan of Johnny Winter, I encourage you to dig in a bit. You won’t regret it.
This particular album was recorded across a number of venues that any of us who tour for a living are very familiar with; Swing Auditorium, San Diego Sports Arena and Oakland Coliseum.
